This famous photo of Jim with his collie, Cheyene,
was taken in October 1963 in Jim's backyard. It graced the cover
of the "Touch Of Sadness" album. Interestingly, it was
really a black-and-white photo. But Jerry Bradley of RCA called
the photographer, Les Leverett, on the spur of the moment and
asked him if he could hand-color it. So Les tinted the photo with
oils -- and did such a great job most people assume it was a color
photograph to begin with.
